Night of Celebration

Last January 27, my college friends including my personal trainor and his co-worker, we celebrated memorable event for me and for Greta, it was a welcoming bash for her and a special day for me. It was held in SDK (Saisaki, Dads, Kamayan) in SM Megamall. Our planned time was 4pm but since the ultimate buffet starts at 6pm, we waited for over an hour but it was okay because at least we had time for kwentuhans and usapang pang-college. The first to arrive at the location was JM Tuazon (i think so), then Charlie. Then I texted JM to know kung sino pa ang andun na (because I was waiting for Gretchen in Tower Records for almost an hour). Since sobrang late na ang babaeng Arabiana, I headed directly to the venue for us to reserve a table. When I arrived there, there was my bestfriend Ryan and his girlfriend April, also Wendel was there. Then we came in to select the best spot seats. After 15 minutes I think, there came Gretchen together with his boyfriend Edman (tama ba spelling?) then Melissa came next (tama ba? nauna sila Greta kay Mel?)... hehehe... Tapos sunod ng dumating si Maret, then Mawel and Glen.

Ang mga latecomers:

It was a night of fun and puro tawanan... And since nandon si Melai... di naiwasan ang usapang sex! Wahahaha... She is the master on that topic. I really enjoyed that night, pero mas masaya kung kumpleto yung mga invited na pumunta... hehehe... Hopefully maulit pa yun kahit wala ng celebration, basta magkakasama lang kami. I just realized that I have missed my friends a lot, medyo matagal na rin akong di gumigimik kasama sila eh... hehehe... For sure mauulit pa 'to sa ibang araw!

Results etc.

Yesterday, I forgot to catch the 9 AM starting program of Golden Globes at Star World, I have opened the television at about 11 AM, just on time for Movie awards. And the results were quite similar to my forecast... hehehe... syempre meron pa ring mali. Let's check!

Best Motion Picture (Drama)
- The Departed : wrong, Babel won
Best Motion Picture (Musical/Comedy) - Dreamgirls : correct
Best Director - Martin Scorcese for "The Departed" : correct
Best Actress (Drama) - Hellen Mirren for "The Queen" : correct
Best Actor (Drama) - Forest Whitaker for "The Last King of Scotland" : correct
Best Actress (Musical/Comedy) - Anette Bening : wrong, Meryl Streed won for "The Devil Wears Prada
Best Actor (Musical/Comedy) - Johnny Depp : wrong, Sacha Cohen won for "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan"
Best Animated Feature Film - Cars : correct
Best Supporting Actress - Jennifer Hudson for "Dreamgirls" : correct
Best Supporting Actor - Eddie Murphy for "Dreamgirls" : correct

Not bad, 70% of my forecasts were right! Hahaha... The show was cool when I watched the replay last night. The next award show that I will be waiting will be the Grammy Awards this coming February.

Also yesterday, I was on leave at work because it was my father's departure day. I was kinda sad but I have nothing to do about it because he still need to finish his contract. I know he will be okay and he will be doing fine with the help of God Almighty.

Movie Forecasts

Remember, remember the month of December... Hehehe.. shiiittt!!! Wala akong napanood na sine noong December!!!! Waaaaahhhh!!! Bakit? Di ko lang type yung mga movies na pinalabas... hehehe...

Since there was no movie review last December, let's just predict tomorrow's winner in the Golden Globe Awards... Click here to see the full list of nominees. In my opinion, on the list of Best Picture - Drama, I think "The Departed" will win. I have seen all the trailers of other nominated films and I think Scorcese's film is the best. I also think that it's director will win the Best Director tilt. For Musical/Drama category, I've been hearing good reviews about "Dreamgirls" but I'm not quite sure who will win in this genre. The following are my fearless forecast for tomorrow's awarding ceremony:

Best Actress (Drama) - Hellen Mirren - The Queen
Best Actor (Drama) - Forest Whitaker - The Last King of Scotland
Best Actress (Comedy/Musical) - Anette Bening - Running With Scissors
Best Actor (Comedy/Musical) - Johnny Depp - Pirates of Carribean: Dead Man's Chest
Best Animated Feature Film - Cars
Best Supporting Actress - Jennifer Hudson - Dreamgirls
Best Supporting Actor - Eddie Murphy - Dreamgirls

Let's check tomorrow's results by watching the awards night, 16th of January, Live Telecast @ 9AM in Star World. Let's see who among my bets will make it.

By the way, I have seen the trailer of the new movie about Hannibal Lecter (one of my favorite movie characters!). The movie is entitled "Hannibal Rising" obviously about the childhoold of Mr. Lecter, the movie will show how he went into madness and how revenge conquer his life. I have seen three other films about him (Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal & Red Dragon). Can't wait to see this film...

Happy Holidays!

It's better late than NEVER! Belated Merry Christmas to my dear readers! and Happy New Year to all! At least, exactly January 1, 2007 I have greeted you! Hehehe... Anyway, this is my first entry for the year 2007. How did I spent my Christmas? Well, we had a simple dinner with my family on the Christmas eve but this time, it was more memorable because my father was with us. On Christmas, we spent all day in our house, waiting for the "inaanaks" and we sang using WOW Magic Sing, we sang all day! Hahahaha... On December 30, we went to SM Megamall right after my workout in Fitness First Ortigas. We had our dinner in Dencio's then directly headed to the Supermarket to complete all necessary items for the celebration of the coming year and it was a headache! There were many people inside the supermarket and we cannot even move freely our push cart, sobrang nakakainis talaga yun! And another thing that I hated that day was the one hour waiting period on the cashier's line.... grrrr.... Regarding New Year, it was more enjoyable because we had more food than the Noche Buena! We have 15 round fruits, I had coins in my wallet and again, we sang before the the Medya Noche time. Well in short, it was a simple celebration of holiday season and what was more important was that I have loving parents and sisters.
