Fantasy and Adventure

1. The Spiderwich Chronicles - I absolutely love this film. I can say that this movie can be aligned with fantasy classics like Narnia and Lord of the Rings. Although the movie is not as huge as them, the great emotional power is there for sure! It has also a family drama that really touched my heart, a kid that is longing for the love and presence of her/his father. It is such a great experience and is jam packed with incredible scenes of imagination, wonder and nail biting suspense. The fantasy characters were well crafted and created enough suspense to keep me on the edge of my seat but not so scary. The existence of a humorous mini monster was such a big help in making such comedic scenes and he blasted the ending! Whew! Galing!

2. 10,000 B.C. - This movie is a great ride that takes you through a sweeping landscape of honor, pride and standing up for one's self and each other. It is also great to see a film that tries to imagine what life was like 1.6 million years ago. The story line is simple, connected by a chain of prophecies told by different tribes' wise people and made happen with little important scenes like the ambush of the giant ostriches and an over super sized tiger. The effects were not that brilliant enough to amaze me but they were believable. This is a movie that you shouldn't miss.

Holy Week at Taal

I spent my holy week in Batangas last March 20-22. It was in Taal, Ryan's province. The meeting place that time was in Robinson's Metro East, night of 19th then we slept in their house in Pasig and made our way to Batangas as early as 3AM the next day. From Cubao to Taal, it was almost 5 hours! Grabe ang tagal! Our first stop was with Taal Church. The church is very old but a big one.

After that, Ryan brought us to their provincial home. We had our lunch there and rest for a while. The next activity that we did was mountain hiking! We rode a banca that is owned by Ryan's aunt and it got us to the starting point of the mountain. Yes, the hiking was really tiring but it was a lot of fun! It took us more than two hours to reach the cater of Taal Volcano.

When we have arrived to the crater, whew! Ang gaan sa pakiramdam and the scenery was so refreshing, nakakarelax. We rested there for about half an hour. After that adventure, we returned to Ryan's house and immediately prepared our things to proceed to Villagracia Resort. When we arrived there, we had our dinner then we slept.

The next day was the real swimming day! We just made way to the pool because we were not that interested on the beach. After that quick swimming we had our lunch there then took a nap. Also that time was the start of support for TATRA Bank (notice the laptop besides me?). San ka pa?! Working while on vacation huh?!

We left the resort at 3pm I think and we bought some pasalubongs. Then we went back to Ryan's house to rest and pack our things because we were leaving the next day. We played cards para makapaglibang at pampalipas oras. We left Taal Batangas at around 4 or 5 in the morning. That was a quick vacation but it was really nice and do different and interesting activities!
